I marvel at the multiculturism that surrounds me. I see an Indian couple practicing Bollywood dance moves to music while being filmed by a friend in the park amphitheater. An African American family of three on fenderless bicycles zips past me, laughing and talking. A Caucasian family of four strolls along while the father films their surroundings with his phone. A young Asian couple — the mother pushing an empty baby carriage and the father holding an adorable baby girl in blue gingham — saunters by. Even the dogs are multicultural — a long-haired dachshund, labradoodle, bullmastiff, dalmatian, etc.

All of us very different creatures gather to enjoy the great outdoors. There are no angry shouts or piercing screams, no irate rants or furious yells. Everyone is smiling — even the dogs. Everyone is polite and friendly. We are all in this together. And, we will survive with civility and kindness.
